From the Barbara Blaine Memorial Fund
By Marjorie Burfitt & Jody Marriott
As we go to print, three new arrivals (kittens: Peek-a-boo, Negative and Little
Mountain) have been rescued from a garage. Mother (Fluffy) is also doing well. She and her litter will be available for adoption. Peek-a-boo may require eye surgery
and would almost certainly not have been a candidate for adoption at many shelters. But, eating well, playing hard, and living life to the fullest, hes one
more Barb Blaine cat that proves even the weakest and the sickest can often thrive if they are just given the opportunity in a no-kill shelter. A great big THANK
YOU to you all for providing those opportunities.
Arrangements
have been made for two more groups of feral cats to be taken
in for spaying/neutering/vaccinations and medical treatment
within the next 10 days. These previously "forgotten"
felines will join the other lucky recipients of your generosity,
making happy endings possible through the work of the Barbara
Blaine Memorial Fund.
Recent generous donations include heated outdoor cat beds,
which have been strategically placed in order that the most
timid of the Barb Blaine feral cats will have warm areas
to shelter them through the Wisconsin winter months.
We
would also like to again extend our warmest thanks to the
veterinarians and staff of All Creatures Animal Hospital
in Appleton, WI for all their great work and TLC for our
little boarders and for help in finding wonderful adoptive
families.
